Admission Arrangements
Trefniadau Derbyn Disgyblion

City & County of Swansea Local Authority controls the admission procedures and arrangements for the placement of Year 6 pupils into secondary school. Applications open at the beginning of October and close at the end of November.

This process is now carried out on-line where parents use the internet to apply for a
place at their preferred school. Please click on the link below for more information and to make an application.

Make an application for a place in a Swansea school for Reception or Year 7 in September.

As a result of new legislation, pupils who reside within the catchment area of the school no longer have an automatic right to attend that school unless a written application is made to the authority/school and only then if there is space. Admission or attendance of pupils at the partner primary school does not provide automatic entry to the chosen secondary school.

Those children who live in the school’s catchment area, and whose parents have expressed a preference, will be offered places first.

You will receive on-line admission details directly from the City and County of Swansea giving you your personal number together with an Admissions Timeline giving important dates for your applications to be returned. Also, dates when the website opens and closes for applications and a date when parents will be informed of school places.
