Before half term some of our pupils had a visit from Swansea University's Innovation and knowledge centre SPECIFIC. The focus of the talk was Low carbon technologies for buildings, Active buildings, renewable energies, Photovoltaic panels, thermal energy storage materials, capturing and storing the wasted energy from industries to power homes. They even covered Birchgrove's own energy use and looked at how PV panels would help. big thank you to Dr Joanna Clarke and Dr Jonathan Elvin's for their time, also for the engaging quiz with wonderful prizes and practical tasks.

As a result of superb effort, work and behaviour a bus full of year 9 pupils were taken on a trip into town visiting McDonald’s following by Tenpin Bowling. Tuesday July 11th 2023 We held a Celebration Evening to celebrate every success pupils have achieved with us throughout the year, from attendance to pupil of the year to subject of the year - This didn't mean a pupil was necessarily the best academically but that the pupil had tried their hardest. There are multiple similar photographs in case parents wish to screenshot the best group photograph for one person may not be the best for another :)
